Hello my dears!!!!

Last monday was my first class for this period, and let me tell you that I felt really satisfied with the group!!!

I had the chance to start my teaching practicum I with teacher Karina Carranza, and I´m going to conclude my practicum II with her too....really nice!!!!

Well, as you know the way I enjoy teaching, this time I took advantage of the moment and for that reason I included a spooky effect to my class!!!

I pasted a pumpkin image on the board and asked them : What do they relate the image with? How much they knew about the celebration? and How do they consider Halloween good or bad? Why? As you know...some of them started saying that Halloween was bad, some others said they like it some other don´t....the activity was focus on WH questions, because later on my topic was SUBJECT and OBJECT questions.  I enjoyed a lot the class, because they were really focus on the topic, and the brief grammar explanation was really nice. Later, I asked them to read a short story about the origins of Halloween, and to complete the paragraphs with the missing words.  After that, based on the reading they were asked to create 8 WH questions given by the teacher (me) !!!! And finally, I asked them to work in groups of 4. They were asked to write about a famous celebration in our country, the date, the food and drink, and the activities we usually do in those holidays.    The celebrations were Xmas, New Year, Valentine´s day, Holy Week and Saint´s day. What I really liked about this activity is the fact that they were able to speak a lot, they share their own experiences, and preferences. At the end, every single group sent a representative to the front and we shared a lot of information with the rest of the classmates. We all had fun, and enjoyed a lot with the topic!!!!
